Scooter Wheels FAQs

Scooter wheels come in many different constructions, designs, colours and sizes - choosing the right wheel for your scooter might seem like a daunting task. Don't worry - we've compiled some of the most common queries below to help you get out an riding with the minimum of fuss!

Q: What are the difference between types of wheel core?

There are two main types of wheel core to look out for - urethane (polyurethane) or metal (aluminium). Which core you want will depends on your riding requirements. For more tricks and skate park based riding, alloy core wheels (metal) are preferred as they considered stronger and heavier than urethane wheels. For street and faster riding, PU core wheels (urethane) are often preferred as they are lighter.

Q: What about the outer rim?

Our scooter wheels all have an outer rim made of urethane, which is very durable and smooth in many conditions. Our wheels have an 88A durometer rating, which puts them on the harder end of the scale. Typically, the higher the durometer rating the harder the wheel. We find this makes our wheels more durable and faster than lower rated options.

Q: Will the design affect my riding?

Not at all. The design and colour of the wheel is purely cosmetic, it comes down to personal preference and how you want your scooter to look. Some riders prefer the solid style of core, some riders prefer as few spokes as possible. There is no one design that is faster, harder or better than the others - just which you like the look of best!

Q: What size should I get?

For our Two Bare Feet Stunt Scooters, we recommend a wheel diameter of 100mm. This size is best suited to our current line up of scooters and ensures the wheels have plenty of space around them to rotate freely. For this reason, at present all the after market wheels we sell are only 100mm.

Q: What do I get with my wheel(s)?

We want you to get riding as quickly and easily as possible, so every wheel we sell comes with two (2) ABEC9 bearings and a spacer pre-installed. We sell wheels either as individual (single) wheels, or look out for great value twin pair packs. Both options come with all the bearings and spacers required.

Q: So.... which wheel is best?

Hopefully at this point you have an idea of which wheel is best suited to you - remember wheel choices are an individual preference so think about where and how you ride to get the best wheels for your scooter. Don't forget we're always here to help to answer any queries or questions you might have.
